Admissions
The Trinity Christian School community has been warmly welcoming families like yours since 1977. Selecting the best school for your child can be an intense task, but does not have to be daunting. Our goal is to make the process of applying to our school as easy as possible. Our doors are open and it is our pleasure to answer any and all of your questions while you prayerfully consider what an education at TCS has to offer your child.
Information packets are available. In addition, you will want to attend an information meeting to meet our faculty and to see our facilities. When you are ready to apply for admission, we will walk along side of you through the following process:
1. Obtain Application Materials. Materials for preschool and kindergarten may be picked up from the Preschool Office (Education 2 Building); for grades 1-6 from the TCS Elementary School Office (Education I); and for grades 7-12 from the JH/SH School Office. Office hours are 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
2. Submit Completed Application. All application materials must be returned to the office of origin on or before the scheduled testing day. Testing will not be conducted without completed application materials which include the following:
A) TCS Registration and Application Forms
B) A copy of current report card for grades 1-8; grade transcript for high school
C) A copy of an achievement test not more than one year old for grades 2-12
D) A copy of the immunization record is required for all students
E) A birth certificate is required for preschool, kindergarten and first grade
3. Schedule a New Student Screening Test. A screening test is required for all new students (first grade- high school). The test evaluates skills in reading, math, handwriting and social development. In some cases, further testing may be required. (Testing fee of $50 will be applied to new student enrollment fee upon acceptance).
4. Review the Screening Tests. Parents will be called within one week after testing. These tests may reveal the need for further testing and resource placement. However, further testing will only be administered if there are openings in the resource classes.
4. Schedule a Parent Interview. Interviews are required for all new families. Both parents are required to attend (unless a one-parent family). The student should also attend if applying to 7th-12th grades. The date and time of the interview will be scheduled upon completion of the application materials and testing.
5. New Student Enrollment Fee. A one-time new student enrollment fee of $375 must be paid in the Business Office (Building 5) or to the school office upon acceptance.
For detailed information on admissions, including current tuition and fee schedules, please contact the school office. Personal tours of the school are available via the Connections Parenting program, which works to connect prospectivev families with other parents and families at Trinity Christian so that they may quickly feel a part of all that is going on at our school. Also, prospective students are welcome to shadow a student or take a tour with one of our Student Ambassadors (during the academic year).
We are currently enrolling for the 2010-11 school year. For information on admissions and tours, please contact the JH/SH school office at (806)791-6583 and the Elementary school office at (806) 791-6581.
